way. The offset axle illustrates how the two are directly interchangable despite the difference in pinion diameter. Get a shot down the axis looking at the end of the pinion gear and you'll see what I mean. To clarify, you were stripping your TT pinion because the pinion wasn't in the correct location and only the tip of the pinion teeth were engaging. "Up to high" makes it sound like the sensor needed to sit deeper into the trans which wasn't the case. The pinion needed to move slightly towards the front of the tranny to improve the engagement of the teeth. This is accomplished with the offset axle of the TT sensor.
